CIPM Sri Lanka – the nation’s leader in human resource management- has signed a pioneering Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently with the Management Faculty of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka to advance knowledge and practice Human Resources among the students of the University.
Notably, the collaboration is a ground-breaking event for the Management Faculty as it is the first ever MoU signed with a Professional Organization.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on 14th October 2022 at the University premises under the guidance of Mr. Ken Vijayakumar, President of CIPM. Participating in the event were representatives from CIPM SL, including Ms. Raji Ravinchndra, Council Member; Dr. Heather Fernando, Chairperson of the Technical Committee on Professional and Academic Affairs; Mr. U.A.C Obeyesekere, CEO and Mr. G. Weerathunga, Director Professional and Academic Affairs.
On behalf of Wayamba University Mr. Uditha Jayasinghe, Vice Chancellor, Dean of the Management Faculty, and Academic staff were present on occasion.
Based on the agreement, both parties will jointly work towards conducting various events to develop the university students and create a vibrant HR fraternity. Future itineraries include organising joint Webinars, Seminars, Training & Development Programs/workshops, Research and Joint publications.
CIPM SL and the Management Faculty believe these targeted events and activities will be of immense interest to students enabling them to upgrade their knowledge base in line with emerging global changes. The MoU also contributes to developing a strong community of students and academics passionate about human resource management by enabling the sharing of ideas to advance knowledge and practice in the field.
