CIPM Sri Lanka signs MOU with Sabaragamuwa University to build HR practices on national platform

CIPM Sri Lanka – the nation’s leader in human resource management and Sabaragamuwa University Sri Lanka (SUSL)- recently signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration between CIPM and the University. The MOU’s overarching objective is to collectively enhance HR education in Sri Lanka and HR practices in Sri Lankan organizations. Similar efforts will assist in transforming working people in Sri Lanka into highly engaged and committed people and finally increase the performance of business organizations.
At the virtual ceremony held in mid-November, Jayantha Amarasinghe; President, CIPM Sri Lanka and Professor Udaya Rathnayake; Vice-Chancellor, SUSL, signed on CIPM SL and SUSL, respectively.
Representing CIPM SL at this event were, Ken Vijayakumar; Vice President, Dr Neil Bogahalande; Chairman of Professional and Academic Affairs Committee, U.A.C. Obeyesekere; CEO, G. Weerathunga; Director, Professional and Academic Affairs, Members of the Professional and Academic Affairs Committee and CIPM staff.
Present on occasion were members of the Faculty of Management Studies of SUSL including Prof. Athula Gnanapala; Dean, Achintha Ekanayake; Head, Department of Business Management, D. Jasinghe; Head, Department of Marketing Management, Prof. D. G. Dharmarathne; Head, Department of Accountancy and Finance, Dr. Sarath Munasinghe; Head, Department of Tourism Management.
The MoU will promote the mutual understanding between CIPM and SUSL in pursuance of common interests and promote and develop principles, techniques and practices of Human Resource Management to optimize the utilization of human resources at the national and international levels. Based on the signed agreement, both institutions agree to develop collaborative programs and activities and extend support when organizing such initiatives.
Significantly, the partnership ensures acceptance of prior learning recognition and an exemption plan for students from both Institutes. Establishing a partnership between the two esteemed institutions offers a mutually beneficial relationship for both institutions.
The MOU with SUSL came into fruition through Jayantha Amarasinghe; CIPM President, Professor Udaya Rathnayake; Vice-Chancellor, SUSL, the Director of Professional and Academic Affairs, Members of the Faculty of Management Studies, SUSL and the Chairman and members of the Professional and Academic Affairs Committee.
